A Servant’s Heart

Work is one of God’s good gifts. It is not meant to make us sad or tired. Work gives us a way to show God’s love in our daily life. Every small job can be a gift of love to God, from cleaning our homes to helping people in our town. But when we feel weak, we get tired or distracted easily. We forget the beauty of normal daily work. This prayer helps us ask God for new strength. It helps us ask him to change our thoughts and help us serve with happy hearts to honor him every day.

A Prayer

Proverbs 31:13-15 (ERV): "She is always gathering wool and flax and enjoys making things with her hands. She is like a ship from a faraway place. She brings home food from everywhere. She wakes up early in the morning, cooks food for her family, and gives the servants their share." A reminder to serve others with joy and a willing heart. #BibleVerse #Scripture #Proverbs #Work #ServingOthers
“She is always gathering wool and flax and enjoys making things with her hands. She is like a ship from a faraway place. She brings home food from everywhere. She wakes up early in the morning, cooks food for her family, and gives the servants their share.” – Proverbs 31:13-15 (ERV)

Dear Father,

I praise you as the maker of heaven and earth. You are the God who never sleeps. You are a God of order, wisdom, and care. In the beginning, you worked to make everything that exists, and you said it was good. Then you rested. You showed us a good example to follow. You made work to be a blessing, not a hard load. Work is a way for us to show your care and faithfulness in the world. Thank you for this good gift, even when I forget it during busy days.

Lord, I confess that I often choose easy things instead of hard work. I forget the jobs in front of me in my home, at work, or in my town. I choose comfort or fun things instead. Proverbs 31:13-15 (ERV) says, “She is always gathering wool and flax and enjoys making things with her hands. She is like a ship from a faraway place. She brings home food from everywhere. She wakes up early in the morning, cooks food for her family, and gives the servants their share.” You call me to be hard-working and careful. You call me to get up early when needed and care for the people in my home. But many days, I want to stay in bed, wait to do hard jobs, or let someone else do the work. Please forgive me for my laziness, my selfishness, and my complaining heart. Cleanse me and help me work with happy hands to serve you, not just people.

Thank you, Father, for giving me strength when I am tired. Thank you for the times I served my family with joy, woke up early out of love, or helped with a hard job. Thank you for showing me in your word that small, hidden jobs are special to you. Whether I am making a meal, saying a kind word, or caring for my home, you see every act of love done for you.

Help me grow in grace, Lord. Teach me to work with love, not just because I have to. Make me a good servant with strong character who wants to bless, encourage, and help others. Let my hands be willing, my heart be happy, and my thoughts be clean. When I feel very tired, remind me that you are my strength forever. May my work show your goodness, and may my home be a place of your peace.

In Jesus Name I Pray. Amen.
